Luxembourg Strengthens Support for International Talent with New Spouse Programme
Luxembourg has launched a new Spouse Programme, designed to help the spouses and partners of international professionals build careers, develop skills and establish connections in the country.
Launched as part of the Work in Luxembourg initiative, the programme recognises that international relocation often involves an entire family. Supporting spouses and partners in finding professional and personal opportunities can therefore play an important role in helping international talent build a long-term future in Luxembourg.
Supporting careers, entrepreneurship and integration
The Luxembourg Spouse Programme offers several pathways depending on participants’ professional and personal goals. These include support for entering the labour market, entrepreneurship, continuing education and qualifications recognition, as well as local community engagement.
The programme is organised by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Ministry of the Economy and the Ministry of Labour, with several organisations contributing to its delivery.
Participants begin with an Introduction and Orientation Module, providing an overview of Luxembourg’s economy, labour market and available support services. The first sessions will take place on 29 September 2026 in person at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and 2 October 2026 online.
Following the introductory module, participants can explore four pathways:
- Pathway to Work – career planning, employability support, coaching and networking with employers.
- Pathway to Entrepreneurship – guidance for those interested in starting or developing a business in Luxembourg.
- Pathway to Continuing Education – support with skills development, career transitions and recognition of foreign qualifications.
- Pathway to Local Anchoring & Community Engagement – opportunities to better understand Luxembourg society and participate in community life.
Why it matters for international business
For companies operating in Luxembourg, attracting international talent is not only about the professional opportunities available to an employee. The ability of their partners and families to establish fulfilling lives in the country can also influence relocation and long-term retention.
By providing spouses and partners with access to career development, entrepreneurship, education and community networks, the programme contributes to a more supportive environment for international professionals settling in Luxembourg.
This is particularly relevant to the Luxembourg–Poland business community, where professionals and families may move between the two countries for employment, investment or business opportunities. Access to local networks and support can make these transitions easier and help newcomers become active participants in Luxembourg’s economic and social life.
For businesses, professionals and families considering Luxembourg as a place to work, invest or build a future, initiatives such as the Spouse Programme provide another avenue for integration into the country’s economic ecosystem.
LPCC welcomes initiatives that strengthen Luxembourg’s international business environment and help professionals and their families build meaningful connections in the country.
