Meet the Speakers
Not long ago, these women sat in corporate offices wondering: “Could I ever build something of my own?” Today, they run their own businesses in Luxembourg — and on 20 May, they are ready to share exactly how they got there.
Maria Pawelek EWP 2019
Role: Independent Non-Executive Director & Senior Corporate Lawyer
Bio: Maria Pawelek is an Independent Non-Executive Director and Senior Corporate Lawyer based in Luxembourg, with over 20 years’ experience in M&A, private equity, real estate, ESG and corporate governance. She has held senior roles at Baker McKenzie, Amazon and SustainCERT, and has been recognised by Paperjam as one of Luxembourg’s “100 Women for Your Board of Directors” and listed on the Legal 500 General Counsel Powerlist.
Maria completed the EWP program in 2019. She still values the connections made through the programme and the role it played in encouraging her entrepreneurial journey.
“The business I pitched during EWP was not ultimately the business I launched, but the program changed something important for me. It helped me move from thinking about entrepreneurship as a distant idea to seeing it as a real and possible path.”, she says.

Iryna Sagaidak, PhD EWP 2022
Role: Somatic Therapist & Feldenkrais Practitioner, MindfulBody
Bio: Iryna helps people whose bodies are caught in patterns of chronic stress, tension, or pain — not by managing symptoms, but by addressing the underlying nervous system patterns that keep them stuck. Her practice, MindfulBody, integrates the Feldenkrais Method, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, and somatic emotional release.
“I came to this work through my own experience of chronic pain that conventional medicine couldn’t resolve, and that personal turning point is what made me want to offer the same kind of fundamental shift to others.
I completed the EWP programme in 2022, when building the business side of the practice was still very new to me – and the support it provided came at exactly the right moment.”, she says.

Alex Kaskow EWP 2025
Role: Founder, xx pilates
Bio: Alex left a career in finance to create something that truly matters — a boutique pilates studio in the heart of Luxembourg City offering reformer group classes and private sessions, built on quality, certified instructors and real community.
“Corporate world never really felt like the right fit for me. It felt disconnected from the real life.
I wanted to create something that I actually care about. Something that has an impact. Even if it’s in a simple way, like helping people feel better in their bodies.
I’ve created a studio that I’ve been missing myself.”, she says.
