“I would like Poland to be perceived not only as a market with potential, but as an active and mature partner within the European financial system.”
Piotr Smołuch, Managing Partner at act legal Poland
His appointment to LPCC Advisory Board marks an exciting step toward deeper collaboration within the financial and legal ecosystems of Poland and Luxembourg. We’re looking forward to collaborating on initiatives that strengthen bilateral economic ties.
To mark the occasion, we asked Piotr a few questions about his motivation and vision for the Luxembourg-Poland business partnership:
Piotr, congratulations on joining the Advisory Board of the Luxembourg-Poland Chamber of Commerce. What motivated you to take on this role?
Thank you. It’s an honour for me, but also a natural step – I’ve been observing for years how dynamically the economic relations between Poland and Luxembourg have been developing, especially in the area of financial services. I want to actively contribute to building bridges between these markets and to bring the perspective of a practitioner who understands not only the legal framework, but also the real business opportunities for meaningful cooperation.
One of the Chamber’s mottos is “Poland as a strategic partner for the financial sector in Luxembourg.” How do you interpret this idea?
To me, it’s a clear statement of intent for the future – Poland is already playing an important role in Luxembourg’s financial ecosystem, primarily as a market with strong investment potential, but also as a partner for Luxembourg’s financial sector. As a strategic partner, we can bring know-how, innovation, and trust – and these are the foundations of any long-term collaboration.
In your view, what value does a law firm bring to its cooperation with the Chamber?
A very practical one. Cooperation with the Chamber offers the opportunity to support entrepreneurs and investors in navigating both markets – not just from a legal standpoint, but also in terms of real business challenges. We want to be not only an advisor, but a development partner – to understand the context, simplify procedures, and seek solutions that truly work.
What are your expectations from this collaboration – both for yourself and for the Luxembourg-Poland business community?
For me, it’s a chance to foster an even closer dialogue – with entrepreneurs, institutions, and fellow Board Members. I would like us to work together to build practical tools and initiatives that will facilitate cross-border cooperation. And at the same time – for Poland to be seen not just as a market with potential, but as an active and mature partner within the European financial system.
