The Summer Business Party 2025: Poland as a Strategic Partner for Luxembourg’s Financial Sector
On Wednesday, the 17 September 2025, the Luxembourg–Poland Chamber of Commerce (LPCC) welcomed members, partners, and friends to a reimagined edition of its flagship networking event – The Summer Business Party.
The afternoon began with a business session in the prestigious auditorium of Arendt & Medernach in Kirchberg, where leaders and innovators gathered under the theme “Poland as a Strategic Partner for Luxembourg’s Financial Sector.” Later, guests continued the exchange aboard the MuselScheff boat for an exclusive networking cruise on the Moselle River.
It was an event designed not only to inspire but also to create lasting connections across both markets.
Business Session: expertise and collaboration
The afternoon business session opened with remarks from Simon Gorbutt, Deputy CEO at Luxembourg for Finance, who emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation built on cohesion as a driver of Europe’s competitiveness.
Simon shared how Luxembourg’s stability and Poland’s dynamism can complement each other – mobilizing capital, fostering innovation, and fueling growth across Europe. He also highlighted Poland’s remarkable human capital, with over half a million professionals in IT, finance, compliance, and analytics, making our country a key player in Europe’s financial future.
The stage was then graced by six of the leading companies in Poland that are making their mark internationally:
- Q Securities: Filip Suchta outlined outsourcing and delegation regimes for Luxembourg AIFMs and depositaries.
- DZP: Joanna Wierzejska and Piotr Parzyszek delivered insights on Polish tax developments affecting cross-border fund structures.
- MGW: Benedykt Wiśniewski and Marek Szpręga presented new solutions to valuation problems supported by AI-driven efficiency.
- Cascade: Maciej Waloszyk challenged the myth of AML as a “scapegoat,” presenting compliance as a driver of efficiency.
- Onwelo: Marcin Maj explored tech-driven operational models and the role of AI in alternative investments.
- Future Processing Group: Mateusz Pondel and Anna Samborowska demonstrated future-ready digital solutions for financial institutions.
The presentations set the stage for a lively panel discussion on the future of Luxembourg’s financial sector. The speakers examined success factors in outsourcing and characteristics such as cultural fit, experience, and valuation expertise. They also looked at trends in the field such as compliance drivers, AIFMD II, private debt, and cybersecurity.
The rest of the discussion took a Poland-centered approach, as the speakers noted Poland’s economic stability, talent pool, and digital transformation, in addition to Luxembourg’s participation to the cross-border investment scene, while also emphasizing regional revisioning investment opportunities. Panelists highlighted the need to maintain diverse value chains, new cross-border collaboration, and streamline channeled regulatory responses, as well as improve enduring gravitation of responsive regulatory collisions.
The dialogue focused on outsourcing as a model to meet the shared need for resilient partnerships in uncertain times.
Evening Networking: conversations on the Moselle
After the formal business session, the group made their way to Remich together, where the evening hour was spent on the Moselle river. The private networking cruise on the MuselScheff combined fine catering and live music with the extraordinary scenery.
The unhurried and exclusive gathering encouraged the participants to initiate conversations that other networking events lack. This atmosphere contributed to the core of LPCC mission: to cultivate and nurture the mutual business relationships between Luxembourg and Poland.
