THE SUMMER BUSINESS PARTY 2021

The annual flagship event of the Luxembourg-Poland Chamber of Commerce called Summer Business Party took place on 23 September. As every year, the event was held at the residence of the Polish ambassador for members of corporations from the Grand Duchy and Poland.

The ceremony was inaugurated by H.E. Mr Piotr Wojtczak, the Ambassador of Poland in Luxembourg, and Mr Artur Sosna, the Luxembourg-Poland Chamber of Commerce president.

This year’s event was sponsored by the Warsaw-based company Q Securities, a member of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE), and among the largest AIF depositaries on the Polish market and the only one acting independently from banks. This company has received a licence to provide custodian services for Luxembourg alternative investment funds, making it the first investment firm to receive such a licence in the Grand Duchy. We were welcomed by Ms Agnieszka Sawa, President of the head office in Warsaw and Mr Piotr Zaczek, Head of the Luxembourg branch.

In 2019, LPCC established the tradition of presenting one Polish region each year to promote regional trade and culture abroad. This year we are delighted to feature the Opole Province.

The Opolskie Voivodeship lies in southwestern Poland, bordering on the Czech Republic and four Polish provinces of Lower Silesia, Wielkopolska, Łódź and Silesia. Its convenient location on major transit routes by rail, road, and the inland Odra River waterway, the region’s vital asset. The Opole Region is also a crossroad of Polish, German, Silesian and Czech cultures and traditions. It boasts South Poland’s most important mass transit route – the A4 motorway, part of the Trans European Berlin – Kiev transport corridor.

We had the pleasure of listening to a presentation given by Mr Tomasz Hanzel, Director of the Opole Centre for Economic Development. Mr Hanzel also presented a short film showing the potential of Poland’s smallest and least populated region.

We are delighted that the guests honoured us with their presence. The meeting was an excellent opportunity to share business opportunities and celebrate business and diplomatic relations between the two countries to the accompaniment of live music, delicious food and perfect weather.

We look forward to seeing you next year!
