About the Speaker:
Filip Suchta is the Malta Country Head and Branch Director of Q Securities, an independent alternative investment fund depositary, overseeing over 250 funds in 3 jurisdictions. He is a renowned expert in all matters related to investment funds and capital markets, and focuses mainly on depositary and custody services regulatory issues. Filip has been supporting the company as a partner at Matczuk Suchta Dylak, one of the leading Polish law firms specialising in capital markets law, a role he still holds. He has also served as a supervisory board member on multiple investment fund management companies. Filip has supervised all legal aspects of Q Securities’ depositary services since 2016 and, since 2023, he is heading the company’s Maltese branch.

DZP will cover the latest Polish income tax developments affecting the fund industry, including the impact of recent TSUE rulings on exemptions for foreign funds, taxation of limited partners investing in Luxembourg partnership funds, potential Polish tax residency risks for funds, and withholding tax issues on Polish investments. Attendees will gain practical insights on navigating these regulatory changes and understanding their implications for cross-border fund structures.
About the Speakers:
Joanna Wierzejska is a tax advisor who supports clients from various sectors of the economy in matters related to mergers and acquisitions, as well as selecting tax-efficient business structures, investments, and carrying out the transaction process. She has extensive experience advising both private equity and industry investors. For years, she has supported a number of private investors, entrepreneurs, and their families in reorganizing and developing their businesses, protecting their private assets, reporting foreign assets, establishing foundations, succession, and changing tax residency.
Piotr Parzyszek specialises in advising on capital market law, the trading in financial instruments and commercial law. He advises investment funds, TFIs, depositories, investment companies, distributors of investment fund units and entities managing debt portfolios. He supports Polish and foreign investors in setting up Luxembourg investment funds and advises issuers, investors and offerors on issuing debt securities.

With over 26 years in senior management and more than 13 years leading valuation services, he has supervised and verified over ten thousand valuations. He holds an Executive MBA from the University of Maryland/University of Lodz and has published widely on finance and leasing.
Marek Szpręga is an expert in corporate advisory, business valuation and due diligence. Involved in nearly 1,500 valuation projects and over 50 due diligence processes. Experienced CFO and management board member in corporate entities and other organizations. Collaborated with leading advisory and audit firms in Poland. Lecturer at the Warsaw School of Economics, Kozminski University, and Warsaw University of Technology Business School. Member of the Management Board of Association of Business Valuators in Poland.
Standardizing the Unstandardizable? Rethinking tech for alternative investments
Onwelo examines operational fragmentation in Luxembourg’s fund ecosystem, where key processes like onboarding, investor communication, and document handling remain manual and repeated across multiple providers. The session explores why existing infrastructure resists integration, how regulatory, procedural, and trust barriers block progress, and whether AI and automation can realistically support bespoke fund structures without forcing uniformity. It also considers what changes would be needed to create a sustainable, more efficient operational model.
About the Speaker:
Marcin Maj leads Onwelo’s strategic growth, guiding the company’s transformation toward end-to-end project delivery and expanding its portfolio in areas such as cybersecurity, managed services, and proprietary software solutions. With nearly 20 years in the financial industry, he has managed investment funds at Crescap Group and Quantic Receivables Fund RAIF, and gained extensive experience in investment banking and strategic advisory at Raiffeisen Bank International, mBank, and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. He combines deep financial expertise with technology leadership and holds the CFA designation.
